The question

What is the ruling on promoting and marketing an online marketplace where most of its products are permissible, but there is a small section that sells musical instruments and sexual aids, given that the promotion is for the marketplace as a whole and not for the prohibited products, and a commission is received for every purchase made through the marketer?

The answer

If the market is not specialized in selling forbidden items, and forbidden items within it are very few, then it is not forbidden to promote it or earn from it. However, if the product bought by the customer is used only for forbidden purposes (such as musical instruments), then the commission from this purchase must be disposed of by spending it on charitable deeds, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Indeed, when Allah forbids a thing, He forbids its price."
