Is it forbidden to read the books and lectures of the Ash'aris and Sufis, especially in light of the Prophetic Hadith: "My Ummah will split into seventy-three sects, all of them in the Hellfire except one. They asked: 'Who are they, O Messenger of Allah?' He said: 'Those who follow what I and my Companions are upon'?" And what is the best way to learn according to the methodology of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and the Companions, far from the distraction of sects?

The beginner in seeking knowledge is advised to adhere to the scholars in his country who propagate the Sunnah (definition), and to read the easy and clear books and fatwas of the Imams of Ahlus-Sunnah, such as Ibn Baz and Ibn Uthaymeen. When the Sunnah becomes clear to him and he recognizes the deviations of the Ash'aris, he may read their books with caution regarding the interpretations they contain, as these books contain much good and their authors are the closest to Ahlus-Sunnah.
