The answer

The money designated for trade is subject to zakat based on the zakat of its principal. Therefore, the zakat for the bracelet became obligatory for you from the moment you acquired the original money with which you purchased it, not from the moment you acquired the bracelet itself. The zakat on the money for which it was sold is consequential to this principal. As long as you purchased the bracelet with the intention of trade and paid zakat on it at the end of its first year, and then sold it during the second year, its value is subject to zakat as part of its principal, and a new hawl (zakat year) does not commence for it. In summary: You pay zakat on the money in your possession when the hawl for your ownership of the original money with which you bought the bracelet completes, and you do not set an independent hawl for it.
