If a wife leaves her husband's home without his permission and without necessity, she is defiant (nashiz) and sinful, and her financial support (nafaqah) is forfeited unless she is pregnant. The husband is advised to involve some righteous people to mediate between them. If her family is corrupting her against him, he has the right to prevent her from visiting them and to prevent them from visiting her.
