Does the Hadith apply to me: "Deeds are presented every Monday and Thursday, and on those days, Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, forgives every person who does not associate anything with Allah, except for a person between whom and his brother there is animosity. It is said: 'Leave these two until they reconcile, leave these two until they reconcile'"? This is knowing that I have forgiven my friend who cut ties with me, and there is no hatred in my heart towards him.

There is no justification for not asking your friend why he abandoned you. It might have been due to a malicious report. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade a Muslim from abandoning his brother for more than three days, and you fell short by not clarifying the reason and by assenting to the abandonment.

It is obligatory for you to strive to resolve the issue and initiate reconciliation, for neglecting this prevents forgiveness. If you strive and he does not respond to you, or you are unable to reach him, then you have fulfilled your duty and the ruling of abandonment no longer applies to you. As for your statement that your pride prevents you from initiating, this is from the whispers of Satan, and the better of you two is the one who initiates the greeting of peace.
