What is the ruling of the Shari'ah on the behavior of the wife's family who refused to return her after she left her husband's home following a quarrel and physical abuse?

The wife's mother has no right to prevent her daughter from returning to her husband as long as the husband desires reconciliation and a good marital relationship. The husband is advised to seek Allah's help and involve some righteous people to mediate between them. He should also exercise self-restraint, be patient, and occupy himself with what benefits him until his wife returns.
