The question

Will the niqab set back my daughter, who is in her first year of secondary school, and I don't see her fully ready to wear it, given the circumstances surrounding us in Egypt and the fact that she will be the only one wearing the niqab in the school?

The answer

The fatwa we adopt is the obligation of the niqab for a mature woman. The signs of maturity are mentioned in Fatwa No. 34850.

It is highly probable that one who has entered the first year of high school has exceeded fifteen Hijri years and has begun menstruating. If this is the case, you are obliged to command her to wear the hijab. It is advisable to have her wear the niqab and to nurture her to be proud of it, so she can stand firm against those who oppose it.
