Has the verse "Do not approach prayer while you are in a state of drunkenness" been abrogated, and was the prohibition of alcohol gradual?

The verse: "Do not approach prayer while you are in a state of drunkenness" is abrogated by the Almighty's saying in Surat Al-Ma'idah: "O you who have believed, indeed, intoxicants, gambling, [sacrificing on] stone altars [to other than Allah], and divining arrows are but defilement from the work of Satan, so avoid it that you may be successful." The abrogation was concerning the permissibility of drinking alcohol outside of prayer times, whereas the verse in Surat Al-Ma'idah absolutely prohibited its consumption. And prayer while intoxicated is neither permissible nor valid due to the absence of the condition of lucidity.
