The question

Is one sinful for sharing a movie poster and commenting on it with "Tonight's movie," without praise or advice, if someone watches it after knowing its name? And is one sinful for lending one's phone's earphones to another if they are used for listening to music?

The answer

If a film contains unlawful elements, it is not permissible to recommend it, even without praise, because doing so constitutes a recommendation of evil and cooperation in sin and aggression. Allah the Almighty said: "And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression." Whoever guides another to it will bear their sin, because the one who points to evil is like its perpetrator. The proof for this is the hadith: "And whoever calls to misguidance will have sin upon him like the sins of those who follow him." It is not permissible to give someone something they request to use in unlawful acts, for that involves aiding in the commission of what is forbidden.
