How do we respond to those who believe only in the Qur’an and reject the Prophetic hadiths, claiming they did not see the narrators and considering them tales of the ancients?
Whoever impugns the purified Prophetic and its authority, impugns the religion of Allah and the trust of His Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him, and follows his whims without knowledge. The Holy Quran has threatened severe punishment for whoever opposes the Messenger and disobeys him, as it mandated obedience to the Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him, in about a hundred verses, and considered his obedience to be obedience to Allah. Groups of heretics and Rawafid have gone so far as to deny the validity of relying on the Sunnah and to restrict themselves to the Quran only. However, scholars have refuted them, both in the past and present, and have shown that the Sunnah is the wisdom mentioned in the Holy Quran, and that it is essential for understanding the rulings and details of the religion. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, made it clear that whoever rejects his , arguing solely for the Book of Allah, is misguided and outside the fold of the faith. The scholars of this Ummah have diligently purified the Sunnah from all interpolations and established strict criteria for distinguishing authentic Hadith from forged ones, which has rendered the Sunnah preserved and clear, with no doubt or uncertainty in it.
