The one responsible for bribes is the one who commits them. As for the money that remained with the questioner, there is no issue with it because nothing was added to it; rather, it was taken from it. Those in charge of the company should be advised to avoid paying bribes, as they are among the gravest sins, and Allah Almighty has forbidden them and cursed their perpetrators. Allah Almighty says: (Listeners to falsehood, devourers of [that which is] unlawful), and His saying: (And do not consume one another's wealth unjustly or send it [in bribery] to the rulers in order that you may knowingly consume a portion of the people's properties unlawfully).
