What is the meaning of verses 75 and 76 from Surat An-Nahl?
Source: FtawySummarized from the full answer at Ftawy · imported Sep 2, 2026
Allah has given two parables: The first is between a slave who owns nothing and a free, wealthy, generous giver; these two are not equal. How can the poor creature be equal to the Lord, the Creator, the Owner, the Omnipotent? The second is between a mute who can neither hear nor speak nor do anything, and is a burden on his master, and one who enjoins justice and is on a straight path; these two are not equal. How can that which is worshipped besides Allah, yet possesses no power, be equal to Him who speaks naught but the truth and does naught but that for which He is praised? And most of the polytheists do not know the truth of the matter.
