The majority of scholars hold that swearing an oath by divorce results in divorce if the oath is broken. A clear utterance is not bound by intention, and divorce is not repeated by merely uttering the phrase unless you intended its repetition.

As for the view of Ibn Taymiyyah, you are required to pay an expiation for breaking an oath if you did not intend divorce but rather a threat. The preponderant view is that of the majority of scholars. Based on this, you can take your wife back before the expiry of her 'iddah, provided this is not the third divorce.
