Do blood and wounds resulting from an abscess invalidate prayer and prevent ablution? What is their ruling?

The emission of blood from other than the two private parts is a matter about which jurists have differed regarding its nullification of ablution (wudu'). The view of the Maliki and Shafi'i schools of thought is that it does not nullify ablution, but it is not permissible to keep it on during prayer due to its impurity. If the blood is continuous, then it must be washed off, and something should be tied over the area for each prayer time. Such a person is treated like one who suffers from urinary incontinence, continuous flatulence, or continuous bleeding. If it is not possible to tie something over the area, one should pray as is, and there is no blame on the worshipper. If the discharge is on one of the ablution organs and it cannot be washed, then it suffices to wipe over it while washing the rest of the organs. If even that is not possible, a splint or medical plaster should be placed over it and wiped over. There is a difference of opinion among jurists regarding the obligation of performing tayammum (dry ablution) in addition to that.
