What is the wisdom behind the revelation being sent down through Gabriel, peace be upon him, instead of being sent down directly to the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him?

"It is not appropriate to shorten the salutation and prayers upon the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. Allah Almighty has mentioned the ways His messengers received revelation: through inspiration (while awake and in dreams), through direct speech from behind a veil, and through Gabriel, peace be upon him. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, experienced all forms of revelation, and Allah spoke to him during the Mi'raj (Ascension), which did not happen to anyone else. As for the wisdom behind election and selection, that is from Allah Almighty's actions, which demonstrate His knowledge, justice, and wisdom. He chooses whom He wills to distinguish them, just as He chose Gabriel, peace be upon him, for his qualities of strength and trustworthiness."
