What are the statements of the Malikis that indicate the detestability of reading from the Mushaf in prayer, and how does one respond to those who say that the fatwa changes with the change of times and places in this matter?

The Malikis consider it disliked for a worshipper to read from the Mushaf (definition) (copy of the Quran) in an obligatory prayer, even if he started it by looking into it. However, it is permissible in a supererogatory prayer if he begins reading from the Mushaf from the very beginning, not in the middle of it. Therefore, there is no dislike in holding the Mushaf in Tarawih prayer for both the Imam and the congregants, especially if it leads to an increase in reverence and presence of heart.
