The answer

Muslim and others narrated from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Shall I not tell you of something by means of which Allah erases sins and raises ranks?” They said: “Yes, O Messenger of Allah.” He said: “Performing ablution thoroughly despite difficulties, taking many steps to the mosques, and waiting for one prayer after another. That is ribat, that is ribat.” In this hadith, there is an encouragement to righteous deeds by which sins are forgiven and ranks are raised, and among them is performing ablution thoroughly despite difficulties. Its meaning is completing it perfectly during intense cold, body pain, and the like.
