Is it permissible to work in a job related to stock exchange matters?

The nature of the work presented on the stock exchange is not clear, as it contains both permissible and forbidden elements. If the work involves direct engagement in what is forbidden or assisting in it, then it is not permissible. Otherwise, there is no objection, keeping in mind that it is preferable to seek other employment. For the lawful is clear and the unlawful is clear, and between them are doubtful matters. Whoever avoids doubtful matters has cleared himself in regard to his religion and his honor.
