What is the ruling on dealing with a person who seeks the help of jinn solely for good purposes, such as treating illnesses and undoing magic, and is subjugating jinn for good considered a miracle from Allah?

It is not permissible to seek assistance from the jinn due to the potential harms it may lead to, and due to the difficulty of passing judgment on the jinn. It has not been authentically reported that the Prophet (peace be upon him) and his Companions sought their assistance. With the prevalence of ignorance, a person may fall into sorcery under the pretext of seeking assistance from the jinn for good deeds. The miracles (karamat) of the awliya' (saints) are a truth that Allah manifests through a righteous servant, and many such instances have occurred in the Qur'an and Sunnah (definition). However, a Muslim does not strive for karamah, but rather for steadfastness (istiqamah), because karamah is not proof of istiqamah; rather, it may be a gradual enticement (istidraj). The claim that subjugating jinn is a karamah is not correct, for karamah is a grace from Allah.
