What is the correct method for prostrating due to recitation (sujud al-tilawah), especially concerning the placement of the Mushaf? Should it be held in the hand or placed on the ground?

When passing a verse of prostration (sajdah), the reciter says "Allahu Akbar" and prostrates as in regular prayer, supplicating as they wish. It is preferable to say: "My face has prostrated to the One who created it, and fashioned its hearing and sight by His might and power. So blessed be Allah, the Best of creators." Then, one says "Allahu Akbar" upon rising.

As for placing the Mushaf (definition) (Qur'an) on the ground: It should not be placed directly on the ground. Either it should be placed on a raised object, or remain in the hand, to avoid the difference of opinion among those who prohibit that. Scholars have differed regarding the ruling on placing it on clean ground; some prohibited it out of respect for the Qur'an, while others permitted it if the ground is clean, viewing that it is not considered disrespectful. However, raising it is more appropriate.
