Is the chronic illness that afflicted the girl an expiation for her sin towards her mother, and is it true that whoever angered their parents and they died while displeased with them, their repentance will not be accepted and their recompense will be the Fire?

Filial piety is one of the greatest acts of drawing closer to Allah, and disobedience to parents is one of the greatest abominations. A daughter harming her mother and causing her memory loss is considered one of the greatest acts of disobedience. The door of repentance is open to every sinner, no matter how great their sin. Allah the Almighty says: "Say, 'O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful.'" And her statement that whoever dies while their parents or one of them is angry with them will not have their repentance accepted and their recompense is Hell, abiding therein eternally, is incorrect and from the whispers of Satan. We advise her to greatly honor her mother now, to supplicate and seek forgiveness for her, and to perform good deeds on her behalf, such as ongoing charity. And whatever illness has afflicted her mother, she will be rewarded for it and it is an expiation for her sins.
