Scholars have differed concerning one who neither prays nor fasts: whether this constitutes apostasy or not. The preponderant opinion, in our view, is that it does constitute apostasy. Therefore, if such a person dies, no funeral prayer should be offered for them, nor should they be buried in Muslim cemeteries.
