The answer

The aforementioned hadith was narrated by several Companions (may Allah be pleased with them), but its chains of transmission are weak due to the presence of weak or abandoned narrators. Sheikh Al-Albani, the scholars of the Permanent Committee, and Sheikh Ibn Uthaymeen have all deemed it weak. Indeed, some scholars, such as Ibn al-Jawzi, al-Dhahabi, and al-Shawkani, went further and ruled it to be fabricated. This is because the matter of Allah is worship, and humans are commanded to engage in dhikr (remembrance) and du'a (supplication), and neither suffices for the other.
