What is the ruling on owning a store for managing electronic games for children, in exchange for a fee (2 Saudi Riyals) per hour? And is it similar to playing with dice and chess, which are prohibited? And what is the reason for the prohibition of those games?

The ruling on opening a shop to rent electronic games is based on the ruling of the games themselves. If they are free of forbidden things such as images of naked women, magic, and music, then it is permissible to rent them. As for dice and chess, they are forbidden because they are instruments of amusement that distract from the remembrance of Allah and from prayer. They may also lead to animosity and waste of time, and occupy the heart and mind from the affairs of religion and worldly life.
