What is the interpretation of the verses: "So let man observe from what he was created? He was created from a gushing fluid, issuing from between the backbone and the ribs. Indeed, He is able to return him [to life]. The Day when secrets will be tested"?

The interpretation of the aforementioned verse: "So let man observe from what he was created. He was created from a gushing fluid that issues from between the backbone and the ribs. Indeed, He is able to return him (to life). The Day when secrets will be tested."

The exegetes state that it is an invitation to ponder the creation of man from a gushing fluid (sperm), which is the mixed fluid of man and woman. It issues from the loins of the man (bones of the back) and the ribs of the woman (bones of the chest). It is one fluid because of their mixture. And Allah is able to resurrect man after death on the Day when truths will be revealed.

Sayyid Qutb pointed out that modern science has revealed that man's fluid is formed in the vertebral bones of the back, and the woman's fluid in the upper chest bones, then they meet to form man. This journey from a simple fluid to a complexly structured human indicates the presence of a divine hand that propels and preserves this development. And these verses contain a scientific miracle.
