The answer

A woman must complete her ' (waiting period) in the country where her husband passed away or where she received news of his death. She should not return to her country of emigration until the 'iddah period has concluded, unless she finds a safe place to complete her 'iddah there. If she returns to her country of emigration, she must remain there until the 'iddah period is over. During the 'iddah, it is forbidden for her to adorn herself, use perfume, or apply kohl. After the 'iddah period concludes, nothing related to the previous marriage is required of her. She must return to Muslim lands if she fears temptation in her religion.
