How do we respond to Christians who claim that the Quran was stolen from the Gospel due to the similarity in concepts and prophets, and who ask why they should believe in a book that came after their Gospel and plagiarized its concepts?

The claim of Quranic borrowing from the scriptures of the People of the Book aims to negate the divine origin of the Quran. This misconception assumes that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, acquired information from the People of the Book either directly or indirectly, by denying his illiteracy, claiming the existence of available Arabic translations, or alleging that he received knowledge from a teacher.

However, the Holy Quran and the Sunnah (definition) of the Prophet prove the Prophet's illiteracy. Moreover, Western academic research confirms the absence of Arabic translations of the Bible before the eighth century CE. As for the claim of receiving knowledge from a teacher, it is refuted by the nature of the Prophet's life and the immense volume of Quranic knowledge. His brief encounters with Bahira the monk and Waraqa ibn Nawfal were fleeting and do not support this assertion.

Therefore, the only remaining conclusion is to acknowledge that the Prophet's knowledge of the stories of the prophets and past nations was a revelation from Allah, and this is what the Quran has affirmed in numerous verses.
