Is helping the needy online better than donating to charities, and is the reward lost if the recipient is a deceiver?

Charitable giving online or through charitable organizations are both good, and the preference between them is up to the individual, although it is generally the case that charitable organizations are more reliable and secure. The important thing is to initiate the charity and not to pay attention to Satan's doubts about the sincerity of those in need; for Allah rewards the servant for their charity according to their intention, even if the charity falls on an undeserving recipient and the beggar is a liar. The charity may still be accepted and benefit the giver, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "As for your charity, it has been accepted. As for the adulteress, perhaps she will refrain from her adultery because of it. And perhaps the rich man will take heed and spend from what Allah has given him. And perhaps the thief will refrain from his theft because of it." This hadith indicates that the good intention of the giver is the basis for the acceptance of charity.
