Is it permissible to work for a company that audits and enters data for insurance companies, where the work is limited to matching invoices and proofs with the accounting rules of insurance companies, without interfering with the insurance contracts themselves?
Commercial insurance, in all its forms, is forbidden because it is based on (excessive uncertainty), (gambling), and consuming wealth unlawfully. Since it is forbidden, it is likewise forbidden to work in drafting its contracts, auditing its accounts, or assisting in it in any way, based on the Almighty's saying: ﴿And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression. And fear Allah; indeed, Allah is severe in penalty.﴾ [Quran 5:2]. Therefore, it is not permissible to work in the accounting departments of insurance companies, as this entails cooperating in sin and aggression. And whoever abandons something for the sake of Allah, Allah will compensate him with something better, and a servant will not attain anything from provision other than what has been decreed for him.
