It is not permissible to buy a house in installments through usurious banks, because the bank does not actually buy the house nor does it come under its guarantee; rather, it is a usurious loan. It is not permissible to undertake this except out of dire necessity that cannot be averted otherwise. And whoever can afford housing rent is not considered to be in dire necessity.
