Is it permissible to demand the return of a portion of a donation amount that exceeds the original intention?

The charitable society acts as an agent for those who give Sadaqah (charity). It is permissible for the donor to revoke the Sadaqah before the poor person takes possession of it. However, if the poor person takes possession of it themselves or through their agent, then it is not permissible to revoke it, based on the Hadith: "The one who takes back his gift is like a dog that vomits and then returns to its vomit."

However, if the donor makes a mistake, such as giving a larger amount than they intended to donate, then it is permissible for them to reclaim the excess amount that was given by mistake, even if the money has reached the poor person, provided that the poor person can be identified and the money recovered from them.
