What is the ruling on placing the Quran and reading it in the house of the deceased with the intention of reward for him, and is it permissible to wash the body of the deceased who did not pray, and is it obligatory to designate a specific place and time for condolences, and how should condolences be offered, and is it permissible to stand in a line for condolences at the graveyard?

There is no harm in placing the Noble Quran in the house of the deceased if it is in a pure and respected place. As for placing it merely because its owner has died, there is no basis for that. There is no harm in reciting the Quran for the deceased and dedicating its reward to them, without gathering, feasting, or taking money. It is permissible for someone who abandons prayer to wash the deceased if they are capable of doing so. The deceased who abandoned prayer should be washed, shrouded, prayed over, and buried in Muslim cemeteries. As for designating a specific place for condolences and gathering there, it is disliked and an innovation. Condolence is prescribed, its duration is three days, and it can take place anywhere and in any manner.
