How can one reconcile the primary purpose in life, which is the worship of God, with worldly actions that may not be directly intended for the worship of God, and whose motives may be purely personal?

Worshipping Allah is the Muslim's ultimate goal, but this does not mean that a Muslim's entire life should be dedicated solely to worship, leaving no room for permissible enjoyment. Rather, a Muslim should partake of good things and perform righteous deeds.

The lives of the prophets were not confined to worship; they had professions, and so did the righteous predecessors.

Permissible actions, when accompanied by a good intention, become acts of devotion for which one is rewarded. Permissible recreation helps the soul approach worship with renewed vigor and enthusiasm.

A Muslim should understand their religion in this manner and lead their life accordingly.
