What is the correct way to dispose of papers that contain the Basmalah, Qur'anic verses, or the name of the Prophet (peace be upon him)?

One disposes of papers containing verses from the Holy Qur’an either by burning them or by tearing them so that the letters are no longer connected. Evidence for this is found in the action of Uthman ibn Affan (may Allah be pleased with him), who ordered the burning of all copies except for the Qur’anic codices he had compiled. Some scholars believe that it is preferable to bury them in a pure place that is not trodden upon.
