Is it permissible to buy in-game currency/points?

There is no harm in purchasing points in games if it is governed by the Shariah controls, and represents a real benefit considered lawful by Shariah. Otherwise, it is not permissible. Among the Shariah controls for games are that they should not be accompanied by gambling or chance, they should not distract from duties, they should not lead to conflict and animosity, they should not be accompanied by music or forbidden images, and the play should be beneficial.
