Is the non-fulfillment of supplication, after committing to acts of worship and seeking knowledge, an indication of Allah's wrath or His rejection of a servant? And what is the way to achieve Allah's pleasure and proximity to Him?

"Not feeling the fruits of obedience and the answer to prayer requires patience and striving (mujahadah), for the rectification of the heart takes a long time. Hastening to seek results is one of the greatest afflictions, and the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, warned against being hasty in supplication, as he said: 'A person's supplication will be answered so long as he does not become impatient, saying: 'I supplicated but I was not answered.'' Allah may accept the supplication and magnify the reward for its supplicant without fulfilling their specific request. One should also review and hold oneself accountable to search for any hidden sin or affliction that might be preventing the desired outcome from being achieved."
